Disk space & bandwidth quotas

Our Green Hosting plans provide many unlimited features as well as set quotas for disk space and bandwidth. Here they are explained.

Your Green Hosting account has both disk space and bandwidth quotas. You can see the resources allocated for your account and your usage within your hosting control panel.

Disk Space

The disk space allocated within your Green Hosting account is provided for both your website files and your e-mails.

You will receive e-mail notifications (to the e-mail address you gave when signing up for Green Hosting) to let you know if you are running out of disk space. Please do not ignore this message. If you reach your disk space limit you will not be able to log in to your hosting control panel, upload files or images to your website and you will not be able to receive e-mails to that account.

Please note that the disk space for e-mails is included in your overall hosting account disk space allocation. This is still the case even if you set your e-mail account size as larger than your overall hosting space allowance.

If you approach your disk space allocation you may wish to delete unwanted files or e-mails from your account (making sure you check the 'sent items' folder). Alternatively you may increase your disk space allowance. To do this please contact us via our support helpdesk.

Bandwidth

Your hosting account has a monthly bandwidth allocation.

If you are reaching your bandwitdth limit you will receive a warning e-mail at 80% capacity (to the e-mail address you gave when signing up for Green Hosting). Please do not ignore this message. If you reach your bandwidth limit your site will go offline until the bandwith limit is increased or until the new month when the allowance re-starts. Hitting your bandwidth limit also means you will not be able to add more content to your website and you will not be able to use e-mails associated with that account.

If you are expecting a high number of visitors to your website or have added content that is likely to use more bandwidth then keep a close eye on your bandwidth use. If you think you will need to increase your bandwidth allocation then please contact our support helpdesk.
